GCIC CJIS Network Conversion Project
Important Notice! Monthly Fees Decrease
The Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) is in the process
of upgrading the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS)
Network to meet the standards of the National Crime Information
Center (NCIC) 2000 Project.
NCIC 2000 stores vast amounts of criminal justice information
which can be instantly retrieved by and /or furnished to any
authorized agency. The State of Georgia criminal justice
and law enforcement agencies access this information through
the GCIC CJIS Network.
The NCIC 2000 System, which is the replacement system for
the current NCIC System, will provide additional enhancements,
which will include the ability to send and receive images.
In order to provide this functionality to the criminal justice
and law enforcement agencies in the State of Georgia, GCIC
has implemented a statewide conversion to the TCP/IP protocol
for connectivity to the CJIS Network. The conversion was successfully completed in October 2006. For
